Pest of the Month November 2008 – Cycad Scale

  • Distribution: Oahu, Big Island, Kauai, and Maui
  • Host:  Cycad species especially sago palm
  • Symptoms:  Leaves turn yellow, then brown and die
  • Management:  Biological control with tiny black lady beetle (Rhyzobius lophanthae) preferred.
